For me, being a Forté Fellow is about sisterhood – the kind I always wished I had growing up. My mum has two sisters, and I have seen how they discuss everything, from personal challenges to career decisions. Watching them, I always admired the strength that comes from having that kind of support system. Forté has given me my version of that.

The highlight of my Forté journey so far has been attending the 2024 MBA Women’s Leadership Conference in Chicago. Spending two days surrounded by inspiring women at the top of their fields left me feeling motivated and energised. Business school isn’t a sprint – it’s a marathon – and having this community of support and role models is invaluable.

Prior to my Full-Time MBA, I spent five years in financial consulting, specialising in retirement consulting. Understanding the importance of empowering women from a young age, I contributed to Project Aadya at WTW, a CSR initiative that supported over 1,300 adolescent girls, helping them navigate the physical and emotional changes during puberty and instilling in them a sense of period pride. Now, as Vice President of the Finance Careers Club at 51�Թ��, I am aiming to organise a panel discussion featuring women leaders in finance. My goal is to create a platform where students can learn directly from women who have carved their own paths in the industry.

For me, Forté is more than a scholarship or a network – it is a chance to uplift, to learn, and to contribute to something far greater than myself.

Being a Forté Fellow at 51�Թ�� has reinforced my passion for advocating for women’s leadership and professional development. My journey in business began 10 years ago at Saint Mary’s College, an all-female undergraduate institution in the U.S., where I was surrounded by strong, ambitious women. Entering the male-dominated finance industry was a culture shock, but it strengthened my determination to create more opportunities for women in business.

Forté’s mission resonates with me, empowering women through community, education, and growth. My first experience as a Forté Fellow was at the Forté MBA Leadership Conference in Chicago, where I proudly represented 51�Թ�� and connected with inspiring women and leading companies like ExxonMobil and PepsiCo.

In London, I continue this mission as a Forté Fellow at 51�Թ�� and International Ambassador with Female x Finance, actively engaging in female-centered networking events to bridge the gender gap in business and empower more women to lead.

When I first came across the Forté Fellowship, I did not realise how much it would mean to me. At the time, I saw it as an incredible opportunity to be part of a network of inspiring women in business. But now, having stepped into this journey, I see it as something much bigger. Forté is about belonging, representation, and the power of women lifting each other up.

Before my MBA, I worked in management consulting, primarily in the healthcare sector. It was a challenging and rewarding experience, but I often found myself wondering, ‘where are all the women in leadership?’ Even though I had supportive colleagues, I noticed how few women held decision-making positions. It made me question how I could be part of changing that narrative.

Becoming a Forté Fellow reassured me that I’m not alone in this. There is an entire community of women striving to challenge norms, take up space, and redefine leadership. It’s empowering to know that I am connected to a network of women who have faced similar struggles, navigated complex career paths, and are now creating opportunities for those who come after them.

For Pragya Joshi, 51�Թ��’s Executive MBA programme is a chance to both accelerate her progression and increase female representation in senior leadership positions. Receiving the Inspiring Women – Executive MBA Scholarship has further enhanced her desire to help shape the future of organisations, industries and boardroom conversations.

The Inspiring Women – Executive MBA Scholarship has been created in support of the 30% Club’s mission to achieve at least 30% female representation on FTSE-100 boards. Offering access to a wide array of opportunities, including cross-company mentoring and exclusive networking events with female business leaders, this scholarship is open to all female candidates applying to study the Executive MBA. Its main aim is to empower women to become influential leaders in business and beyond.

In this blog, Pragya shares what drew her to 51�Թ��’s Executive MBA and breaks down the impact of receiving the Inspiring Women – Executive MBA Scholarship. She also reflects on the role of female representation in the C-suite and offers advice for women considering applying.

Why did you choose to study the Executive MBA at 51�Թ��?

I chose to study 51�Թ��’s Executive MBA to broaden my leadership scope. Having spent over a decade across consulting, banking and technology, translating strategy and technology into compelling narratives, it felt like the right time to take a step back and deepen my understanding of the underlying drivers – data, AI, finance and how businesses make strategic decisions in technology-intensive environments.

51�Թ��’s Executive MBA consistently stood out as the strongest choice, offering rigorous engagement with AI, data analytics and corporate finance at a world-class STEM institution. Through this programme, I feel confident that I will be able to build the capabilities I need to operate at the highest levels of leadership, where strategy, innovation and execution intersect.

What motivated you to apply for the Inspiring Women – Executive MBA Scholarship?

When evaluating scholarship options, the Inspiring Women – Executive MBA Scholarship stood out for what it represents. Throughout my career, I've built networks for women in tech and telecoms, championed female visibility in organisations and seen firsthand that investing in women's leadership is strategic.

Applying felt like a natural extension of that conviction. Institutions that are serious about advancing women deserve applicants who are equally serious about stepping forward.

What does receiving the Inspiring Women Scholarship mean to you?

I received the email informing me that I had received the scholarship during a family holiday weekend in Cornwall. I felt this immediate rush of gratitude and energy—and yes, a little pride if I'm honest. I shared the news with my family and then stopped for a Cornish ice cream. With a pre-schooler, that seemed the most appropriate way to celebrate.

Executive education requires significant investment, and whilst the financial support matters, what resonated most was the sense of being deliberately backed by 51�Թ��. It validates the intentional pause I’ve taken to deepen my technical and strategic expertise and recognises the diversity and breadth of my professional experience, spanning across industries and countries. This is particularly impactful at a time when women often question whether investing in themselves is justified.

Women in senior leadership often build reputations for delivery and reliability – both strong qualities. But being selected for this scholarship shifts the emphasis towards potential and future impact. Not only was that both affirming and clarifying, but that validation creates space to focus on this transformative year without hesitation – and without guilt.

How will this scholarship support your academic and personal goals?

It provides three critical things: financial confidence, intellectual focus and community.

Financially, it removes a significant barrier. This support means I can approach the programme with full attention rather than worrying about finances. That matters for genuine focus and engagement.

Intellectually, it creates space to engage properly with domains I've worked adjacent to but want to master, including corporate finance, AI and data analytics. These increasingly underpin every strategic decision, and 51�Թ��'s integration of business and technology offers exactly the depth I was seeking.

It also connects me with a community of accomplished women navigating senior leadership across different industries and contexts. That network will matter throughout my career, not just during the programme. These are the conversations that shift perspective.

What doors has this opportunity opened for you so far?

So far, the scholarship has opened conversations that have expanded my thinking and network, with faculty, alumni and fellow scholars. Being part of a deliberately selected cohort creates a different quality of engagement. I am looking forward to the annual gathering where women scholars from top MBA programmes across the UK meet. Networking alongside other ambitious women creates bonds that often outlast the qualification itself.

The scholarship also carries weight professionally. When you're formally recognised for leadership potential, it shifts how others perceive your trajectory. That's not performative, it's simply the reality of institutional endorsement.

Perhaps most importantly, it has reinforced confidence. I'm entering this programme not as someone seeking opportunity, but as someone whose potential has been recognised and backed. That matters for how I show up and what I contribute.

What do you think makes the Inspiring Women Scholarship unique?

Many scholarships focus solely on financial access. The Inspiring Women Scholarship is designed to accelerate women who will shape organisations, industries and the broader business landscape. It recognises that barriers to women's advancement aren't just financial, they're cultural, structural and often psychological.

51�Թ��'s distinctive position at the intersection of science, technology and business makes this scholarship particularly powerful. As industries are reshaped by AI, digital transformation and sustainability imperatives, leaders must be both technically literate and commercially astute. For women building careers in these domains - where we remain underrepresented at senior levels - that combination is essential.

Why do you think female representation in C-suites and on boards is important?

In financial services, technology and regulated industries, leadership teams operate under considerable pressure – navigating disruption, managing risk and balancing competing stakeholder interests. Diverse teams allow for better resilience. They surface blind spots, challenge assumptions and bring different frameworks to complex problems.

Representation isn't only about fairness, though fairness matters. It's about governance, risk management and sustainable value creation. Organisations that reflect the markets and communities they serve are better positioned to understand them, which seems rather fundamental when you say it aloud.

For younger women entering these fields, seeing women in senior roles expands what feels attainable. I want my son to grow up thinking women making strategic decisions is normal rather than noteworthy. That cultural shift compounds meaningfully over time, and it starts with who's in the room.

As a female leader, how do you hope that this scholarship will help you make a wider impact in senior leadership?

Giving back has always been part of how I work. I plan to utilise the opportunities of the scholarship in the following ways:

Mentorship. Throughout my career, I’ve mentored women navigating complex organisations, created spaces for honest conversations about progression and supported female talent where representation matters. I’ll continue that during the Executive MBA, particularly for women considering executive education while balancing senior roles or family commitments.

Structurally. As I move into more senior roles, I want to ensure talent isn’t constrained by informal networks or unspoken rules. The most lasting change comes from embedding fairness into systems, not relying on goodwill alone.

Culturally. I hope to model leadership that is rigorous and humane — clear in direction, open to challenge and grounded in integrity. If we can show that authority and empathy aren’t mutually exclusive, that can have a lasting impact.

What do you think will make someone stand out in their application for the Inspiring Women Scholarship?

I would say three things stand out.

Clarity of purpose. Why the MBA, why now, why this programme. Be specific about what you want to gain, not abstract about "leadership development."
Demonstrated impact. Evidence matters more than titles. Show outcomes you've shaped, challenges you've navigated and value you've created.
Multiplier effect. Scholarships are investments. Committees assess whether backing you will influence things beyond your individual career - organisations, industries, communities. Show how you'll pay it forward.

Authenticity matters too. The strongest applications are honest and grounded in genuine ambition, not what you think they want to hear.

Do you have any advice for those considering applying for the Inspiring Women Scholarship?

Don't wait until you feel entirely ready.

Many capable women delay applying because they believe they need one more credential, one more promotion, one more year of experience. Growth rarely happens at the point of complete comfort.

If the opportunity aligns with your ambition and trajectory, apply. The process itself will strengthen your clarity about what you want and why. You may also discover that others see potential in you that you're still learning to claim.

Take your time with the application. It takes longer than you expect, not because it's complex, but because you're distilling significant history into clear intention. Be specific. Ask trusted mentors to review your materials - they'll spot patterns you might undervalue.

The committee cannot invest in you if you don't put yourself forward. Trust your preparation, articulate your vision and step into the opportunity. You might be more ready than you think.

For Bruna Travassos, MSc Finance student at 51�Թ�� Business School, becoming the first recipient of the Empowering Futures Scholarship was more than just financial support — it was a turning point. Launched in partnership with MUFG Investor Services, a division of one of the world’s largest banks, this initiative recognises financially disadvantaged and first-generation students who have overcome these barriers to education and excelled academically.

The Empowering Futures Scholarship provides full tuition and a maintenance grant to support living expenses. In addition to funding, recipients receive personalised mentorship and coaching from senior leaders at MUFG, giving students invaluable insights into the industry and their professional development. The powerful initiative is also championed by John Sergides, CEO of MUFG Investor Services and an 51�Թ�� alumnus. John remains deeply engaged with 51�Թ�� and passionately supports access to education.

The support I receive provides real-world perspective that complements and deepens what I learn in the classroom. It’s a humbling affirmation of my efforts and a reminder that hard work and perseverance will be recognised.

What motivated you to apply, and how did it feel to succeed?

I felt a strong connection to the initiative’s focus on recognising academic excellence, work experience and overcoming challenges. I appreciated its acknowledgment of how financial circumstances can affect success and how it supports students without added pressures.

When I found out, I was overwhelmed with excitement, pride and deep gratitude. It marked a turning point in my life and gave me a renewed sense of purpose. This has truly changed my life!

How will the Empowering Futures Scholarship support your academic and personal goals?

This scholarship has allowed me to grow academically and personally, while taking full advantage of everything 51�Թ�� has to offer. The mentorship from MUFG provides real-world insights that will be instrumental in shaping my goals. This combination of funding and professional mentoring is truly transformative.

What doors has this opportunity opened for you so far?

I attended a networking breakfast with fellow scholarship recipients and the Recruitment and Admissions team, which gave me a chance to connect with talented individuals and build meaningful relationships.

I also became an Events Ambassador, representing my programme and cohort through student panels, networking sessions and Open Days. This experience helps me develop my public speaking and networking skills.

What makes this scholarship unique?

The combination of generous support and ability to make meaningful connections makes the Empowering Futures Scholarship unique. Mentorship from MUFG Investor Services, and personal involvement from their CEO, makes it more than just support for my studies - it’s a partnership. The initiative empowers students to realise their full potential and shows a real commitment to accessible education.

How did you balance the scholarship application process with other commitments?

It was challenging balancing all my commitments, but I approached it with determination. I treated it like a high-priority project, setting aside time each week. Reminding myself of the impact this opportunity would have on my life gave me the motivation to keep going. Being able to complete my studies without financial burden is truly a blessing.

What advice would you give to future Empowering Futures Scholarship applicants?

Embrace your unique journey and let your story be heard. Reflect on what drives you and be clear about your purpose. It’s your individuality and sense of purpose that will make your application stand out. Committees look for a balance of academic excellence, leadership and authenticity. Resilience and initiative are key, along with a clear sense of purpose. Showing vulnerability isn’t always easy, and exposing parts of yourself can feel difficult, but it’s often in those moments of honesty that your authenticity really comes through. Ultimately, your true passion and dedication will shine through to scholarship committees, showing your potential as a leader.

In this blog, he shares how this scholarship has been instrumental in his journey to beginning the Global Online MBA at 51�Թ�� Business School, as well as his advice for prospective scholarship applicants.

The Dean’s Impact Scholarship recognises remarkable applicants, who have not only excelled academically, but have also demonstrated significant impact in a range of areas, including entrepreneurship, sustainability and social impact.

This scholarship made the entire MBA possible for me, and as it has provided me with an incredible opportunity to attend a world-class institution.

Why did you choose to study the Global Online MBA at 51�Թ�� Business School?

The Global Online MBA offered everything I was seeking in an MBA – exposure to an internationally recognised institution, a diverse cohort of peers from around the world, and being educated by renowned lecturers. I understood it would also allow me to continue my career whilst supporting my wife in her medical studies back home. After reading the brochure, I knew I had to apply. This decision was further strengthened by the positive testimonies and feedback from my peers and mentors, who were 51�Թ�� graduates and could vouch for the institution’s excellence.

What does the Dean’s Impact Scholarship mean to you?

I received the Dean's Impact Scholarship for Technological and Innovation, and it truly meant the world to me. On a personal level, it validated the countless hours I dedicated to advancing my career – from late nights learning cloud engineering and object detection models, to the early mornings of studying for my The Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) and refining my software development skills. While my drive was always fuelled by a deep passion for learning, having these efforts formally recognised was incredibly rewarding. Oh, it also meant I could afford to attend 51�Թ��!

What makes the Dean’s Impact Scholarship particularly unique or special?

This is a wonderful scholarship as it truly prioritises the pursuit of excellence and innovation. We live in an incredibly dynamic world. One where rapid technological advancement coexists with significant challenges and inequities. It’s essential – perhaps even a moral imperative - to harness these innovations to drive meaningful change. A scholarship dedicated to this mission speaks volumes about the Business School’s values and priorities. It reflects a commitment to shaping leaders who can leverage technology to make a real impact. Since securing the Dean’s Impact Scholarship, I have received access to scholarship networking events, breakfasts, and opportunities to partake in promotional activities. It really has been wonderful, these opportunities will continue to open doors for me personally and professionally.

How did it feel when you found out you had secured your scholarship?

I was in disbelief – I checked the email about five times to see if they had made a mistake. It was an incredible feeling to know that my application was successful and that I would be part of the next cohort of the Global Online MBA.

What motivated you to apply for the Dean’s Impact Scholarship at 51�Թ�� Business School?

I attended a few prospective student briefings and panels before applying to 51�Թ��, which encouraged applying for scholarships, so it felt like a natural step when I began my application. I knew I would need financial assistance to attend, and the Dean’s Impact Scholarship resonated with me the most. It aligned perfectly with my career focus on leveraging emerging technologies, like drones, to drive change in South Africa and beyond.

How did you balance scholarship applications with your schoolwork and other commitments?

The scholarship application process was smooth and streamlined, so it wasn’t a significant burden to complete. It was mainly about organising my thoughts and structuring my submission, which made it manageable alongside my other commitments. I have to credit 51�Թ�� for understanding the pressures prospective applicants face and making a clear effort to simplify the application process.

What are the most important qualities or attributes that you think scholarship committees look for?

I believe the committees seek professionals who can contribute unique perspectives, motivations, and a fresh dynamic to the Business School and its cohorts. I think one of the primary considerations is a clear drive for success. Just apply. Gather your thoughts and prepare, but don’t overthink or doubt yourself. I had no idea what the outcome would be when I applied, or the suitability of my profile. How did it feel when you found out you’d secured these scholarships?

I was already absolutely thrilled to embark on my MBA journey at 51�Թ�� Business School; the Business School is well-reputed for fostering innovation and excellence, and the prospect of being a part of this esteemed institution was a dream come true. I was elated to receive the prestigious 51�Թ�� Dean's Impact Scholarship as it was a validation of my hard work, dedication, and potential. I felt deeply honoured and humbled to have been chosen for this incredible opportunity.

Additionally, I was grateful for the recognition of my achievements with 51�Թ��'s Excellence Scholarship, it highlighted the Business School's unwavering trust in me and my potential. The scholarship motivates me to continue striving for excellence knowing that my efforts, struggles, and achievements have been recognised and rewarded.

What motivated you to apply for the Dean's Impact Scholarship?

As an international student with a diverse background, I have had the privilege of studying, working and living in two different countries and travelling across ten more.

I was motivated to apply for the scholarship because I saw it as a unique opportunity to further my education in an institution that values innovation, diversity and the potential to make a meaningful difference.

I felt that my global perspective coupled with my vision to benefit business and improve society through the power of innovative thinking aligned with that of 51�Թ��. Hence, I felt I would be a good fit for this scholarship. It was not just about the financial aid but about being part of a community that shared my values and goals.

What do these scholarships mean to you in terms of your academic and personal goals?

Since a young age, technology fascinated me, leading me to pursue my undergraduate degree in the field of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University in the US. As a teenager, I developed a web-based alternative to Apple’s AppStore along with software tweaks for iOS devices which received over 10,000 downloads and led me to be featured in various news publications such as the Forbes US magazine.

Presently, I am on my journey to transition into an entrepreneurial role by pursuing a Full-Time MBA. As a self-funded student, this scholarship holds immense value to me. It would assist in backing my MBA, allowing me to leverage my savings from my time at Deloitte Consulting in the US to develop proprietary fintech software.

What advice would you give to applicants who are aspiring to earn a scholarship?

My biggest advice to aspiring scholarship candidates is to embrace a mindset of growth and exploration. Getting out of your comfort zone is vital, by actively engaging in various activities, participating and networking within your community. It is also essential to start early by researching scholarships that align with your academic and personal interests while keeping deadlines in mind.

I would advise aspiring students to stay true to themselves and their goals. They should pursue what genuinely inspires them because their passion will fuel their efforts and allow them to effectively share their vision with others.

My professional and academic development in the United States has served me well; however, I am pursuing my postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom to broaden my horizons beyond the borders of my home country and to challenge my preconceived notions.

I physically dropped to my knees and expressed my gratitude to the Lord, and after that, I was physically jumping with joy upon receiving the news.

As an Advisory Board Scholar, I recently attended a Scholarship breakfast, where I networked with fellow scholarship recipients from the Full-Time MBA and Global Online MBA programmes. I learned I would have the opportunity to join an 51�Թ�� Advisory Board meeting, and everyone I met was warm, welcoming, and supportive.

The scholarship encourages me to take on various leadership roles on campus, and I am proud to give back to 51�Թ�� Business School as the Student Staff Council Chair, Student Events Ambassador, and Student Content Creator.

How did you balance scholarship applications with other commitments?

Regardless of your programme, 51�Թ�� Business School will teach you time management skills. You'll encounter numerous opportunities and must prioritise those that matter most. During my application process, I balanced scholarship applications with a full-time job and personal commitments, taking care to thoughtfully consider each question. I recommend starting early to give yourself ample time to plan and reflect, ensuring your answers are both effective and authentic.

What’s your advice for scholarship applicants?

I encourage all applicants to 51�Թ�� Business School with a passion for leadership to apply for the Advisory Board Scholarship. You don't need a fully detailed plan for your time at 51�Թ��, but you should set strategic goals for what you wish to achieve beyond earning your degree. Leadership and resilience are also important, as they look for individuals who can inspire others and overcome challenges in the pursuit of their goals.

How did you balance scholarship applications with other committments?

Balancing scholarship applications with schoolwork and other commitments was certainly a challenge, but I managed by staying organised and setting clear priorities. I ensured I dedicated specific time slots to focus on the applications and broke the process down into manageable steps. I also reminded myself of the long-term benefits a scholarship would provide, which kept me motivated to put in the extra effort.

What’s your advice for scholarship applicants?

My advice would be to stay authentic and make your personal story stand out. Don’t be afraid to highlight the unique ways you have made an impact and the values that drive you. In addition to the financial support provided, Forté Fellows have access to several unique resources from Forté Foundation including participation in their annual conference, exclusive networking groups, free lifetime premium membership and more.

Annelise Wipfli, Full-Time MBA student attended Forté’s 20th anniversary celebration event, held at 51�Թ�� Business School. As a Forté fellowship holder herself, she shares her motivations for applying for this scheme, what this fellowship means to her and the key highlights of this event. She also shares her advice for women who are considering applying for the Forté Fellowship.

Why I applied for the Forté Fellowship

My motivations for studying a Full-Time MBA at 51�Թ�� Business School include gaining career acceleration, international work and life experience and to build a network of international professionals who share a similar growth mindset. My long-term goals include being a leader in Marketing working for a global FMCG or Tech firm.

I first heard about the Forté Foundation when I began to research MBA programmes. It was an organisation that immediately captivated my attention and was something I wanted to be a part of. Being surrounded by women seeking similar career goals but also to get involved to help pave the way for women of the future was a motivation for applying.

What the Forté Fellowship means to me

As someone who is funding my own studies, receiving this fellowship has had a significant impact on me being able to support myself through my MBA journey. Just six weeks underway, the 51�Թ�� Full-Time MBA is already proving to be a deeply transformational and rewarding experience and I am energised to see what the rest of the year and beyond has in store. Becoming a Forté Fellow not only has enabled this journey to happen but will pay dividends in the future as I extend my reach and connect with other women apart of this organisation.

As I talked with my other forte fellows in my cohort, Maria Luisa Mena said,

My Advice

My advice to women considering applying for this type of scholarship would be, know what makes you unique and know that what you are bringing to the table is unique and valuable. Bet on yourself.

The 20th Anniversary Event of the Forté Fellowship

I really enjoyed attending the event at 51�Թ�� , celebrating 20 years of Forté. The event was about recognising the achievements that have been made, the women in our 51�Թ�� community who have contributed to this mission and connecting with others so we may work together to continue to pave the way for the future.

The event included speakers like Leila Guerra, Vice Dean (Education) at 51�Թ�� Business School and Krystal Brooks, Director of Development at Forte.

Krystal Brooks, Director of Development at Forté highlighted Forte's accomplishments over the past 20 years. Krystal then introduced two women who had received the Edie Hunt award for their contributions in pushing forward to mission and vision of Forte across the UK, Aoife Considine & Alberta Asafo-Asamoah.

Feeling inspired by the Forté Foundation

I was blown away by the incredible women at this event and by and the impact they have had while also recognising the work is never done. I plan to apply this into my academic journey through my positions as a Student Ambassador and Vice President of the FMCG, Luxury and Retail Club. I will connect with prospective students about 51�Թ�� Business School and the Forté Foundation. I will help them understand how they may bring their own experiences and goals to create an impact in this space, as well as supporting the women within the club to create new connections, network, and secure a role within the FMCG industry.

I was absolutely delighted when I learned I had secured the Women’s Scholarship. I have been planning to pursue an MBA at 51�Թ�� Business School for several years now and so, when I discovered that not only had I secured my place on the course but had also been awarded this scholarship, I felt grateful and truly excited to start on this new journey.

What motivated you to apply for this scholarship at 51�Թ�� Business School?

I initially qualified as a lawyer and then transitioned to a commercial role in the aviation industry; both the legal and aviation industries are still some way off achieving parity of representation for women at senior levels and so, throughout my career, I have been keen to explore how best to attract and retain female talent within these industries. When it came to applying for my MBA at 51�Թ�� Business School, I was keen to continue my commitment to women’s issues and I felt the Women’s Scholarship was the perfect way to advance that aspiration.

What does this scholarship mean to you in terms of your academic and personal goals?

This scholarship has boosted my opportunity to commence my journey in the world of business academia, which I believe will provide me with a sound basis of understanding across a broad gamut of business topics. This I see as key to my future success in a commercial role. On a personal level, the scholarship has enabled me to realise my ambition of pursuing a truly global MBA programme with a cohort that is diverse in terms of both location and business background. It has also given me the opportunity to attend a world class university that puts the student at the centre of the academic experience.

What advice would you give to students who are aspiring to earn a scholarship?

Reflect on your skills and experience and apply for the scholarships where you feel you have the best chance of success and that you believe reflect your values. Whilst some of the scholarships are more general in nature, others have a specific focus (e.g. leadership, diversity etc.) and so, I would encourage all students to consider what is the best fit for them. As scholarships are typically awarded early in the process, my advice to future students would be to apply for your course at 51�Թ�� Business School as early as possible.

The 51�Թ�� Global Online MBA Women’s Scholarships are awarded to women showing exceptional academic achievement and professional excellence, as well as a commitment to supporting women in business.

How did it feel when you found out you’d secured the 51�Թ�� Women’s Scholarship?

I was extremely excited and honoured to have been selected for this prestigious award at such an acclaimed institution! I felt empowered to pursue my dream and to be part of this amazing community of women leaders at the 51�Թ�� Business School during my time as a student and beyond.

What motivated you to apply for this scholarship at 51�Թ�� Business School?

In addition to providing financial support, scholarships offer an excellent opportunity to network with high-achieving colleagues and enhance one's competitive profile. Personally, I was particularly interested in the 51�Թ�� Women's Scholarship. This interest arises from my background in humanitarian work with UN Women in New York during the emergence of the MeToo movement where I met many influential businesswomen who are committed to women's empowerment. Additionally, my experience working with Zaha Hadid, a highly influential female architect in a predominantly male-dominated industry, further fuelled my advocating for more women in leadership and interest in this scholarship.

To increase your chances, it is important to apply early and dedicate enough time to prepare.

What does this scholarship mean to you in terms of your academic and personal goals?

As I pursue my MBA while working and facing the challenges of being a new mother, I represent a significant portion of applicants who are highly passionate about advancing their careers. However, it would have been impossible for me to be here without the financial support of the scholarship. Studying the Global Online MBA programme will equip me with the knowledge and skills I need to achieve my goals of becoming a leader in the built environment design, technology, and real estate development sectors

What advice would you give to students who are aspiring to earn a scholarship?

To increase your chances, it is important to apply early and dedicate enough time to prepare. Consider the full range of your skills and interests to effectively advocate for your candidacy. Engaging in activities outside of work is a great way to demonstrate leadership skills and personal interests beyond what you can achieve within your company or organisation.
