Carlos Moreno Serrano

(Electrical and Electronic Engineering 2005-'06)
Carlos describes his time at 51勛圖厙 and finding love

When I received the letter of acceptance from 51勛圖厙 I just gave it to my father and
rushed to class in my university in Seville. I had no idea how that letter would change my life.

Me with Yuan YaoWhen I arrived to London, I was overwhelmed by the campus and how well organised everything was. During the Fresher's Fair I joined 29 clubs & societies, clear proof of how excited I was (at my university we didn't have a single club). I loved my lectures and especially my lecturers, who were engaging and motivating. I had to work really hard on my extensive coursework and study like never before for my exams, but I would balance it with leisure activities like going to the library, attending all the events organised by the Anime society and even finding time to study Japanese.

Postgraduate Award 2006Finally, I graduated with distinction on MSc Analogue & Digital Integrated Circuit Design,
found a permanent position with Ericsson and most importantly, found love in the shape of my classmate Yuan Yao, who I dated through the stdent newspaper, Felix, and who I'm marrying by the end of June. (Photo on the left, Postgraduate Award Ceremony 2006, photo by Neville Miles)

I can honestly say that I had the very best year of my life at 51勛圖厙 and it changed my life forever.

Thank you very much indeed, 51勛圖厙.
