Delivering a holistic student experience from pre-application to postgraduation.
Launched in autumn 2023, the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Experience project aims to enable students to thrive in and beyond their studies as members of the broad and diverse 51³Ô¹ÏÍø community. Focusing outside the classroom, the project joins up the current provision across teams and spanning the full student lifecycle from pre-application to post-graduation.
The project was developed around three key areas of focus. The first addresses points in a student’s journey through 51³Ô¹ÏÍø which involve change, spanning from applicants at school to alumni. Second, exploring how to improve parity of experience across campuses and between different groups of students including under-represented and international students. And third, activities which are relevant throughout the student journey including improving engagement with clubs or societies, community development, peer support and more. Importantly, the project’s work covers all students – postgraduates and those based on campuses away from South Kensington are included.
51³Ô¹ÏÍø Experience is led by Professor Peter Haynes, Vice-Provost (Education and Student Experience) and led by Phil Power, Director of the Education Office and Head of Strategic Projects.
The project is governed by the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Experience Project Board, which reports to the Student Experience Forum. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø College Union is a key partner in the project, with the Director of Membership Services, Union President, and Deputy President (Education) all sitting on the Project Board.
