The Department's research was rated 95% world leading or internationally excellent in the most recent research excellence framework (REF). Many academics offer Undergraduate Research Opportunity Programme (UROPs) placements over the summer break to give students an insight to bioengineering research.
The Department has great links with industry. Through the Industrial Liaison Manager, the students can gain experience in industry through placements and internships out of term time. This can be in addition or instead of the Year in Industry.
Projects are informed by our research and links with industry, sports, community and end-users.
