Whether its application and interview advice, skills training or industry insights, we encourage our collaborators to share their knowledge with our students. Our three core events of this nature are Life in...Talks, Mock interviews and Skills workshops. You can find out more about these below.
Please note, there are no costs associated with these sessions for the employer.

During the autumn and spring terms, the Careers Service hosts a series of "Life In...Talks", covering specific industries, skills and occupations. These sessions are delivered online.
Life In...Talks are information giving sessions rather than recruitment centred, so we welcome generalised presentations, although some mention of your organisation is acceptable. The objective of the talk should be to give an insight into different types of careers, and ideally should be fairly general to the sector. It should describe the type of jobs/sectors available, typical career progression, future developments, etc. Students are also always very interested in the qualities that employers are looking for, and how to prepare for selection events.
The talks are open to all 51³Ô¹ÏÍø students, so it is anticipated that students from a wide range of subjects and years will attend - including postgraduates. The Careers Service uses an online booking system for all Careers run events, so we can let you know likely attendance beforehand.

Organisations are invited to offer interview practice to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø students, in the form of full-length mock interviews with feedback. Mock interviews offer an excellent opportunity to highlight your commitment to our students and also to train your own interviewers. These sessions can be delivered in either an in-person or online format.

Our employer-led Skills Workshops are two-hour, practical training sessions delivered between October and March. They provide your organisation with an opportunity to engage directly with 51³Ô¹ÏÍø students, many will have a strong interest in your sector.
Your organisation will take the lead in designing and delivering the content of the session, ensuring it reflects your industry, recruitment practices, and the key skills you seek in graduates. These workshops are intended to help students gain insight into your organisation, understand selection processes, and develop core employability skills essential for success.
Sessions typically focus on areas such as case study problem solving, presentation and communication skills, and preparation for assessment centres. Workshops can be delivered either on campus at South Kensington or virtually, depending on your preference.
To ensure a productive and engaging experience, workshops are usually limited to around 40 students, although this can be adjusted based on the format and objectives of your session. These sessions are interactive, hands-on, and consistently in high demand among our student community.
