The Centre for Paediatrics and Child Health at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø currently comprises nine core research themes, which include researchers and clinicians from across 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and West London, and four cross-cutting research themes which underpin the Centre's research interests and encapsulate many of its large-scale, long-term ambitions.

Allergy

Research within the Allergy theme focuses upon the origins and natural history of allergic diseases and asthma across the life-course, with an emphasis on prevention and translation for patient benefit.

The focus of the Origins of Child Health & Disease theme is on understanding the earliest stages of development and how they impact child health, and beyond. We combine fundamental discovery science in developmental and stem cell biology, reproduction, genetics and epigenetics with more translational approaches in clinical genetics, obstetrics, fetal-maternal medicine, perinatology and paediatrics.
