[07/08/26] A new doctor in our group. On August 7, Mr. Antonio Malpica-Morales successfully passed his PhD viva. The internal examiner was , from our Department of Chemical Engineering, and the external examiner was , Director of the Centre for Complex Systems, School of Mathematical Sciences, Queen Mary University of London.
Antonio did a superb job defending his thesis: the session quickly moved beyond a traditional defence into a high-level scientific discussion that left both examiners thoroughly impressed. They agreed on endorsing the outcome as a pass with no corrections. An outstanding result for Antonio and for our group, and a proud reward for all the effort of these years. Congratulations, Dr. Antonio Malpica-Morales!
Following the examination, we celebrated the occasion with a social gathering.
