AB - Social prescribing offers a promising approach to supporting youth mental health through community resources. However, challenges remain in sustaining engagement and adapting care to the ongoing participation. To address these gaps, we developed Reflective Companion, a conversational agent that facilitates reflection through generative dialogue and provides structured summaries. Through user testing with 12 young people and 8 link workers, we examined the role of agent-generated summaries in social prescribing context. Our findings reveal that summaries function as interactional artefacts rather than mere recaps. They showed potential to transform reflection from a temporal interaction into a cumulative process, potentially fostering longitudinal continuity across broader care journey. Furthermore, the summary may strengthen data agency, establish relational bond based on functional trust, and provide mediated visibility, offering clinical oversight without compromising personal privacy. These findings reframe the role of generative summaries in reflective systems and demonstrate their potential for effective and responsible technology use within human-led care.
