Public engagement can amplify your research impact but how do you plan for and evidence that impact? What do funders expect in funding proposals that include public engagement?  

In this interactive course run by 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Public and Community Engagement team, you will explore the UK higher education funding landscape, and practical insights into how public engagement contributes to knowledge exchange and routes to impact. You will start to consider how engagement could help build your own research impact, and how to evidence it. This course is particularly relevant for anyone involved in developing funding proposals involving public engagement with research.

This course is open to Research Degree Students, MRes, Postdocs and Research Fellows

Learning Outcomes: 

Following completion of this course, participants will be better able to:

• Recognise the wider context of funding for public engagement, impact and knowledge exchange within higher education
• Interpret public engagement funding criteria  
• Describe the value and potential impact(s) of your public engagement activities, for public audiences, researchers and funders 

Prerequisites: 

Participants are strongly advised to attend the ECRI accredited Core Public Engagement Masterclass, or have equivalent skills, before attending this session.
