The Black Postdoctoral Network, established in November 2021, supports, champions and raises the visibility of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's Black Postdoctoral Researchers and Research Fellows.

The network aims to:

  • support Black postdocs and fellows through networking, career development and personal growth opportunities
  • raise the profile of Black researchers and academics by engaging with university-wide committees, support services and visibility campaigns
  • build a network of Black researchers across the academic pipeline - by collaborating with 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's Black Doctoral Network and supporting initiatives that address progression barriers

We host regular online meet-ups and in-person events, alongside an annual symposium.

Save the Date – Keynote Panel

We’re excited to announce this in-person event on Friday 3rd July 2026 (afternoon) - Reserve Your Seat at the Table: Black Women Navigating the Changing World of Work. More details will follow, but for now, please mark the date in your calendars.

This event forms part of the VISiBLE Programme (Valuing Inclusion, Supporting Black Leadership & Excellence), funded by the Research England: Enhancing Research Culture Fund awarded to Sarah EQuity Lab in December 2025. VISiBLE aims to address systemic underrepresentation of Black women in academic leadership and research roles at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø & beyond.
