About
The Climate Compatible Growth (CCG) programme is a £95 million research initiative funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO UK Aid). Running from 2021 to 2030, it brings together leading UK universities, including 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, UCL, Oxford, Cambridge, and Loughborough, to support countries in building sustainable, inclusive futures.
CCG helps low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) design, implement and finance energy and transport infrastructure that both reduces greenhouse gas emissions and supports inclusive economic growth. By providing tools, analysis, and training, the programme strengthens local capacity so that countries can plan their own climate transitions, attract investment and sustain long-term progress.
CCG work most closely with six focus countries, Ghana, India, Kenya, Laos, Vietnam, and Zambia, while also sharing resources more widely through our open-source modelling tools and capacity-building programmes. CCG's approach bridges research and policy, partnering with governments, universities and international organisations such as the World Bank, International Energy Agency and regional development banks, to maximise global impact.
