Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for learners who have completed our 30-study-hours 'Introduction to BSL'  51³Ô¹ÏÍø after:hours course or those who have an equivalent level of proficiency. If in doubt, please do contact us to ask.

Course overview

Build your confidence using British Sign Language (BSL) in this practical and supportive conversation course. Designed for students who have completed an introductory BSL course, it offers the opportunity to reinforce and extend the skills you have already learned.

Throughout the course you will revisit key topics from the Introduction to BSL course while also developing new vocabulary and practising simple conversations. The emphasis is on using BSL in realistic situations, helping you become more fluent and comfortable communicating through sign.

Sessions are lively, engaging and highly interactive, with plenty of opportunity for hands-on practice and conversation with fellow learners. You will also be encouraged to continue practising BSL outside the classroom to help strengthen your developing skills.

This course does not lead to a formal qualification in British Sign Language, but is an excellent foundation for those who do want to go on to study for a formal award.
