Authorship and Acknowledgement in Research Publications
In this online module, we have collated this resource for 51³Ô¹ÏÍø technical staff who would like to understand how contributions to published research can be formally recognised, hear about the personal and professional benefits of this type of recognition, and gain greater clarity on the distinction between an author and a contributor.
National Technician Development Centre
We are a partner affiliate of the National Technician Development Centre, which allows 51³Ô¹ÏÍø technicians to access a range of resources, including TechMeet virtual networking sessions and a database of online training and webinars.
Coaching
Coaching is a one-on-one process that helps individuals consider their options regarding various workplace situations. It is confidential and voluntary, involving up to four meetings over 4-6 months, and organised independently through the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Coaching Academy.
Mentoring
Mentoring, like coaching, is a development activity available to all staff. Both are supportive and non-judgmental and rely on a set of similar interpersonal skills.
Internal Work Shadowing is an excellent opportunity to develop your existing skills, learn better practice, share ideas, discover how you can progress in your career, and connect with the wider 51³Ô¹ÏÍø community. It is beneficial to both the host and the ‘shadower’.
Apprenticeship funding has opened up a new route to developing 51³Ô¹ÏÍø staff, regardless of their career stage. Apprenticeship programmes are available across a range of occupations and at various levels, right through to Master's, allowing 51³Ô¹ÏÍø technical staff to gain new skills and qualifications on the job.
