Researchers to strengthen response to Bundibugyo virus outbreak

The Jameel Institute and Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis have been awarded approximately US$1.1 million from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) to lead new research strengthening the modelling and analysis of the ongoing Bundibugyo virus outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The research will use mathematical modelling and epidemiological analysis to understand how the outbreak is evolving, support the planning of vaccine trials, and generate evidence to guide the response, while strengthening epidemic intelligence and preparedness for future outbreaks.
