Overview
In this intensive five-day Digital Transformation Strategy programme, you will gain the skills to develop and implement a digital strategy within your organisation, supported by practical management tools and clear information on what is required to deliver change. This digital transformation course is suitable for executive leadership and management teams who need a structured approach to change and a clear view of the information, systems, and governance required for delivery. Drawing on insights from 51勛圖厙 faculty, industry leaders, case studies, and your peers, you will develop a robust understanding of digital cultures, foundations, and frameworks to craft your own transformational strategy, with a focus on management decisions and the information needed to execute them.
Participants will undertake a personalised learning experience where they develop their own digital transformation strategies, with coaching from experienced academic and industry leaders and guidance on the management practices required throughout their journey. A network of experienced and international programme peers will assist you in crafting and stress-testing your strategy. You will work through a realistic project that reflects your organisation’s priorities, using practical tools to improve decision-making and enhance alignment across stakeholders.
The programme concludes with a scenario where participants pitch their digital transformation strategies to their peers, testing management choices and the information used to justify them. They will leave with practical feedback and insights, and a completed plan to implement a digital transformation strategy within their organisation, including what is required from management to sustain change.
AI is transforming business. Learn where it fits into your digital strategy.
Artificial Intelligence is becoming a fundamental driver of digital transformation from automating processes and improving customer experiences to changing operating models, products and business models.
On the Digital Transformation Strategy programme, you will explore AI, including Generative AI and tools such as ChatGPT, alongside data science, cloud, automation, IoT and other emerging technologies.
Rather than focusing exclusively on AI, you will learn how to assess these technologies in the context of your wider organisation identifying where they can create value, what capabilities and data are required, how they integrate with existing systems, and what management, governance and organisational change are needed to implement them successfully.
You will also explore:
- How AI and automation can reshape business processes
- How to assess the opportunities and risks of emerging technologies
- How data and AI can support better business decisions
- How to integrate AI into existing systems and operating models
- The ethical and organisational considerations of AI
- How AI fits into a wider digital transformation strategy
- How to build leadership alignment around technology-led change
The outcome: a broader digital transformation strategy that shows where AI and other emerging technologies can create the greatest impact for your organisation.
Learning journey
Digital Transformation in Perspective
This part of the programme walks you through the range of factors that have led us to the fast-changing environment we find ourselves in, and what this means for management and leadership at work. It explores the technology behind the change and in turn explains what this means for our organisations, including the information and systems required to respond. As well as helping us understand the present, this section also prepares us for a future in which the pace of change will increase, and in which organisations will not survive unless they are prepared for constant change.
- New channels, tools and business models
- Why organisations really fail at digital
- Research Insights from CMI book of the year “Building Digital Culture"
Plotting Your Digital Journey
We then start to build the steps we must go through to achieve our journey to implementing an effective digital transformation, focusing on management, governance, and the required capabilities. As well as talking through some of the practical steps that we need to take along the way, the section takes a look at a number of examples from organisation that have already gone through the journey and successfully implemented their digital transformation, including what was required from management. You will connect strategy to management execution, including customer impact, operational priorities, and the information needed to track progress across teams.
- Digital is dead – What ‘being digital’ means for your business

The Role of Data in Driving Change
This session includes an inspiring off-site visit to 51勛圖厙’s world-leading Data Science Institute, where you will experience cutting-edge research in action and see how data innovation is shaping the future of business. This session explores the role of data science and the importance of data visualisation, including the management decisions these insights support. Delivered in a highly innovative and hands-on way, the session helps people know not only when they are looking at patterns in data that matter, but also how to put across their findings in a way that moves people. These data visualisations can then be used to drive forward any digital transformation and gain stakeholder buy-in.
