Hospital ward products designed to reduce medical error formed part of a free exhibition at the this week.

The designs are the outcome of the (DOME) project, a collaboration between clinicians, business experts and designers from 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, and the .

The project was funded by the (EPSRC).

In this video, from the at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, Grace Davey and Jonathan West from the Helen Hamlyn Centre present three of the designs in the exhibition: a vital signs trolley, a new visual strategy for promoting hand hygiene, and a ‘Carestation’ that provides the equipment needed for patient care. The Carestation is already being trialled on the wards at St Mary's Hospital and the team plans to test and commercialise the whole package in the near future.
