A Chemical Engineering undergraduate has won the Salters' graduate prize, and a PhD student the Thomas Jennings award.

Final year MEng student Neal Wannell has been awarded the , awarded each year to final year Chemistry or Chemical Engineering students from UK universities who are expected to achieve a first class degree.  "I am delighted to have won this award," said Neal, who takes home a prize of £1,000.  "Thank you very much to the Department for having sponsored me and I'm proud to have represented 51勛圖厙 College."

Furthermore, at the 5th ISLFD (International Society of Lyophilization - Freeze Drying) conference in Bologna last month, PhD student Shamila Devi was awarded the Thomas Jennings award for her poster 'Porosity of Lyophilised Cakes: Effects of Vial-Shelf Contact Area'.
