The LRET Research Collegium 2012 Winning Team

... with their research on "Sustainable Seabed Mining: Guidelines and a new Concept for Atlantis II Deep".

The Lloyd's Register Educational Trust (The LRET) in collaboration with the University of Southampton held its annual research collegium at the University of Southampton in the summer of 2012. The collegium primarily comprised of academic faculty and research fellows from the various LRET Centres as well as engineers from leading industrial establishments. The LRET scholars were placed in five groups, each of which consisted of five individuals. Each group collectively addressed the major challenges that underpin the topic of Seabed Exploitation.

The prize for the best research at the Collegium was awarded to the group consisting of Dr Nicole Kudla, Lev Egorov, Hany Elosta, Shiliang Shan and Kyung-Kyu Yang, entitled "Sustainable Seabed Mining: Guidelines and a new Concept for Atlantis II Deep".
