IGHI has partnered with the journal Health Affairs to publish a special thematic issue

IGHI has partnered with the journal Health Affairs to publish a special thematic issue examining why high-income countries are struggling to achieve the “Triple Aim” – better health and better health care at lower cost. The institute contributed three articles:

Michael Macdonnell and Ara Darzi review innovations emerging from around the world with the potential to reduce the labour intensity of healthcare and reduce costs.

Dominic King, Felix Greaves, Ivo Vlaev and Ara Darzi discuss how approaches based on behavioral economics may help nudge patients and providers toward lower health spending growth.

And Irene Papanicolas, Jonathan Cylus and Peter C Smith analyse the determinants of personal perceptions of health system performance in eleven high-income countries.

Professor the Lord Darzi, the Director of the Institute, will be presenting the work to senior American and global policymakers and academics in Washington D.C. on 11 April.
