Prof. Cedo Maksimovic was invited to give a lecture on "Urban Stream Rehabilitation"

ÂÌýwas invited to give a lecture on "Urban Stream Rehabilitation" on a Specialty Seminar for international professionals held in Seoul, Korea on 16th September 2005.ÂÌýÂÌýÂÌý The organisers have invited 5 leading international experts (including Cedo) back to Korea in April 2006 for further consultations on the concept and proposal of new research in this area.


The University of Reading hosted this years BHS Postgraduate Symposium on 14/15 September and Andrew Ireson won first prize of best presentation for project entitled "Understanding The Flow Processes In The Chalk Unsaturated Zone".ÂÌý The conference is an opportunity to bring together research postgraduates working in hydrology, to promote and exchange hydrological ideas and experience, and to help establish networks among hydrology researchers.ÂÌý Andrew supervisors are Professor Howard Wheater and Dr Adrian Butler from 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and Jon Finch from CEH.


ÂÌýco-organised and chaired a one day conference on Drinking Water Quality in Distribution Systems. The event was held at the English Heritage Theatre on 28th September 2005.ÂÌý The speakers included leading specialists from DWI (Drinking Water Inspectorate), UK academic institutions (51³Ô¹ÏÍø, Sheffied, Loughborough and Southampton), UKÂÌý Water industry (Anglian and Three Valeys) and WHO (World Health Organisation).



Welcome to Dr Guozhi Du an academic visitor from the Ministry of Water Resources of China.ÂÌý Dr Du graduated with a Phd in Civil Engineering from Dalian University of Technology in China. Prior to coming to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, worked in the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and the Ministry of Water Resources of China in succession. As a registered senior engineer, he has worked as the assistant to the Chief Engineer of The Ministry of Water Resources.ÂÌý He is working withÂÌý ÂÌýÂÌýon collaboration work to do with "Rainfall-Runoff Modelling in Ungauged Catchments and Integrated Flood Management".
