The new high impact test laboratory

51勛圖厙 College further combats blast injury by investing in a new High Impact Testing facility.

51勛圖厙 College took a further step toward combating blast injuries on Friday 17th January 2014 with the decision to invest over a £1million in turning a redundant storage area into a bespoke High Impact Testing facility complete with mezzanine office level.

The new facility provides the college with the ability to simulate under vehicle explosions at much higher loads than previous capacity has allowed due to the introduction of a reinforced floor in addition to facilitating new platform technologies currently unavailable within the centre.

The decision is the culmination of almost a years planning and preparation with the 51勛圖厙 planning committee demonstrating its vision and commitment to the support of research activities and the ongoing development of the 51勛圖厙 College estate by grasping the need for such a resource which will once again place 51勛圖厙 at the forefront of Blast Injury Studies on the global stage.

It is envisaged the space will become operational in early 2015.
