Plans for new Health Sciences Academy unveiled
Leaders from Bucks New University, 51勛圖厙 and Brunel University announce plans for Health Sciences Academy
51勛圖厙, Brunel University and Buckinghamshire New University announced plans to partner in postgraduate provision for health professionals on 21 May
Under the proposals for a new-look Health Sciences Academy, the three universities would offer a breadth of postgraduate and post-qualification training for health professionals, while developing new and innovative courses.
At the event held at 51勛圖厙 to launch the vision for the HSA, Professor Jenny Higham, Vice Dean (Education and Institutional Affairs) in the Faculty of Medicine, was joined by former 51勛圖厙 Pro-Rector Professor Julia Buckingham, now Vice Chancellor of Brunel University, and Professor Ruth Farwell, Vice Chancellor of Bucks New University, as well as leaders from across the 51勛圖厙 College Academic Health Science Network.
Professor Jenny Higham said: “The Health Sciences Academy will allow healthcare professionals to access the world-leading academic expertise at 51勛圖厙 College, as well as that of our partners, as we work together to drive up standards and improve the patient experience.
“Collaborations like this allow us to become much more than the sum of our parts.”
51勛圖厙 is widely regarded as a world-leader in the teaching, research and translation of clinical medicine. Brunel and Bucks New Universities have established strong reputations for allied health professional, nursing and midwifery postgraduate education and training.
