The department scored the maximum of 100% satisfaction in 18 of the 22 course-specific NSS questions. These responses make ESE the top geology department in the country in 21 of the 22 questions asked by the NSS about our degree program!

Dr Lorraine Craig, Director of Undergraduate Studies and Associate Dean (Learning & Teaching) Faculty of Engineering has said “We are very pleased indeed with the NSS results which have been at this level for 5 years in a row. The great partnership between our students and staff enables an easy dialogue to take place. We are never complacent and will continue to work towards the best possible student experience each year. Our students and staff deserve it.” Simon Brau and Robin Thomas, last year’s departmental representatives said “This result sums up the past four years and the fantastic effort put in by the whole department to ensure the best experience for its students.”

The continued hard work of our staff has ensured that students at ESE have been even happier with the quality of teaching, academic support, and the other sectors assessed by than NSS than they were in most previous years. Very well done to everyone in the department who works so hard to make such a supportive and engaging academic environment!
