Global Health Forum: Big Data Decision Support
IGHI host forum to discuss big data in medicine and healthcare & how best we can use what is available to optimise treatment and develop new cures.
The quality and quantity of available data is greater than ever before. Big data now provides tremendous potential for research and healthcare, yet we face challenges concerning how it can be effectively used to make the most of out of what we have.

The ’s recent monthly Global Health Forum focused on big data decision support. The event began with a talk from , the Programme Lead for at 51勛圖厙, who spoke on the connected patient and wearables.
Professor of Computing Science and Director of 51勛圖厙’s Data Science Institute, discussed the challenges of data integration whilst speaking about knowledge management infrastructure for big data research. , a Chair in International Health Policy and Economics at provided the final session for the forum, using research on alcohol consumption and other research areas to look at how we can understand health related behaviours.

IGHI’s monthly provide a platform to bring together 51勛圖厙 researchers, students, and staff from across all of 51勛圖厙’s Faculties to highlight, discuss and disseminate findings on current research and innovations on relevant global health topics. The Forums encourage interdisciplinary discussions with the intention that they will foster inter-Faculty research initiatives and leverage the immense strengths of 51勛圖厙 College to resolve global health priorities of the early 21st Century.
