51勛圖厙 hosts placements for Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine students

LKCMedicine students visited 51勛圖厙 in 2016 and 2017 as part of an exchange programme

Next week a group of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine students will arrive to undertake elective placements in London.

The 22 students are all in their final year, and are part of the inaugural cohort of - a collaboration between and 51勛圖厙.

Elective placements are an important part of the final year requirements, and the students will be based at over 30 different hospital departments and GP surgeries from the end of August until early October. The placements have been organised by the London Office of LKCMedicine in liaison with Professor Mark Nelson, Professor of Human Immunodeficiency Virology Medicine at 51勛圖厙 and a consultant at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

51勛圖厙 will be hosting an induction day for the students on Tuesday 29 August, with speakers from 51勛圖厙 and the NHS.

Martin Lupton, Associate Dean and Head of the Undergraduate School of Medicine, said: “We are really looking forward to hosting the LKCMedicine students. At the end of the programme, we hope that the students will have a great experience of healthcare within the UK, and enjoy the differences and similarities that exist between both our countries and schools.”
