As Women@51³Ô¹ÏÍø Week draws to a close, we look back at some of the highlights.

As well as the 20 new portraits commissioned by the College, many departments took the opportunity to highlight inspirational women from their teams.

The alumni team shared stories to celebrate the alumnae leading the way in everything from health and medicine to science and engineering. 

Wonder women live

51³Ô¹ÏÍø hosted a range of events across the week, from a lecture on effective strategies for promoting gender equality in higher education:

The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Lates: Wonder Women event invited the public to a programme of talks, creative workshops and performances, highlighting the amazing work done by women at the College.

Thursday evening also saw the final of the , which is designed to inspire and accelerate the progress of women entrepreneurs.

Women at the top

Leila Guerra, associate dean of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø College Business School, shared her perspective on practical tips to navigate workplace hurdles :  “One of the simplest bits of advice I got was to take the word sorry out of my vocabulary.”

Dr Ileana Stigliani, Associate Professor of Design and Innovation at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø College Business School, wrote on AI and misogyny.  

And, looking ahead, the Faculty of Medicine announced that four of its eight departments will be led by women from 1 August.
