51勛圖厙 College Centenary Meeting and Gala Dinner in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Cambridge, Massachusetts

Alumni from around North America gathered in Cambridge, MA at the end of September in celebration of the College's Centenary

Alumni from the US and Canada gathered together at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts at the end of September, uniting in celebration of 51勛圖厙’s Centenary.

This special event was also attended by academics from 51勛圖厙 College and MIT, who used the opportunity to build academic links. A packed programme of activities included both a comprehensive academic programme delivered by academic experts in energy, healthcare and the environment from both institutions and a Centenary Gala Dinner.

Guests were treated to five academic sessions which covered energy, engineering in medicine, healthcare, the environment and technology transfer, each prompting healthy and intelligent debate amongst attendees and speakers, both in and out of the sessions.

The social highlight was the Gala Dinner, held at the mid point of the two-day meeting. Hosted by 51勛圖厙 Rector, Sir Richard Sykes, guests enjoyed a champagne reception and a delicious four-course meal before receiving a brief College update from Sir Richard and a birthday toast from Ed Crawley, Ford Professor of Engineering at MIT.

This event was part of a programme of visits during 2007 which aim to involve our international alumni in the College’s Centenary celebrations, under the College's new International Ambassador Scheme. Further details about the scheme can be found at .
