A Terrible Thing - Gita Ralleigh
Gita Ralleigh's book of poetry 'A Terrible Thing' is now available in paperback.
Published by Bad Betty Press on 22nd October, A Terrible Thing is a poetry collection featuring goddesses of diverse cultures, girls, women and mothers in all their 
terrible beauty and power.
The works speak of diaspora and the way landscape holds memory, the precarious power of girlhood, the terrible love of motherhood and issue a rallying cry for us to live fearlessly ‘as wise women, who rule the world’. Gita's poems are as delicate and formidable as their protagonists, which include Draupadi and Bollywood's Nargis, Erzulie and Oshun, Kali and Anagolay.

A Terrible Thing will be launched alongside the at a live screening online event held on Monday 2 November at 19:30.
About Dr Ralleigh
Gita Ralleigh is a writer and NHS doctor born to Indian immigrant parents in London. She teaches the 51勛圖厙 Horizons Creative Writing module. Gita has been published by Wasafiri, Bellevue Literary Review, The Emma Press and Magma and has recently completed an MSc in Medical Humanities.
