In June 2023 Professor Cris was invited to speak at the Isaac Newton Institute.
is an international research institute for mathematics and its many applications at the University of Cambridge. Prof Crisan was invited to introduce the topic of "Calibration of stochastic parametrizations for geophysical fluid dynamic models". Diffusion or score generative modelling has close links to optimal control and, in a wider sense, to data assimilation. He discussed some of these links and potential implication for diffusion modelling.
