51³Ô¹ÏÍø and Trumptech partnership to support science teacher training in Hong Kong with digital tools and tailored resources for schools.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø welcomed representatives from Trumptech, a leading digital education provider based in Hong Kong, to its South Kensington campus this week. The visit marked a key moment in strengthening international education ties, as 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and Trumptech formalised a new partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). 

The ceremony celebrated the launch of a new partnership aimed at enhancing science teacher training in Hong Kong. Trumptech delivers digital education services to schools in Hong Kong, and this collaboration will see 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and Trumptech provide a series of joint educational initiatives. 

The MOU was signed by , Vice-Provost (Education and Student Experience) on behalf of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and Ming Kwok, CEO of Trumptech.

At the same event, Heather Haseley, Managing Director of the Institute of Extended Learning (IEL), confirmed plans for a three-year collaboration with Trumptech to develop online science teaching resources tailored to the new Hong Kong primary science curriculum. The formal agreement, which will be signed digitally by the end of July, marks the start of a project that will later expand to support secondary school educators. 

The project is supported by the UK Department for Business and Trade (DBT). The Hong Kong Secretary for Education visited 51³Ô¹ÏÍø in May to learn about the university’s experience in enabling STEMMB education in primary and secondary schools, as well as the design and development of relevant teaching materials for schools. Representatives from both organisations attended the ceremony, underseeing the importance of the partnership in strengthening UK-Hong Kong educational ties.

The IEL is 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s hub for designing and delivering innovative, flexible learning experiences that extend the university’s reach beyond traditional degree programmes. The teams (Professional Development and Summer Programmes and the Interdisciplinary EdTech Lab) work with global partners to co-create impactful education that meets the evolving needs of learners and educators worldwide.
