The Polar Challenge is a 320-nautical mile race to the 1996 position of the Magnetic North Pole. Racing in teams of 3, in the most beautiful scenery imaginable, many of the competitors join as individuals and form teams when they meet other contestants during the training sessions in the UK and Norway.

Back in July 2009, Linda decided to sign up to the North Pole Race with two other friends.  She has been training since alone and with the team. The team headed to Norway for their Arctic survival training in january 2010 with temperatures varying between -5F (-20C) and -85F (-65C). The physical and mental training required to survive in this climate needs a location capable of testing them to their limits. The team also had some shotgun training in March to learn saving skills required if they encounter magnificent Polar Bears!
