Experts in BSN discuss the challenges and opportunities in wireless sensing in harsh environments.

 At the recent annual conference on Body Sensor Networks (BSN) held in Dallas, 23-25 May, Texas, USA experts in BSN discussed the challenges and opportunities in wireless sensing in harsh environments. The panel members include Dr. Srinath Hosur from Texas Instruments Inc and Professor Ravi Prakash from University of Texas, Dallas, and the panel was chaired by Professor Guang-Zhong Yang of The Hamlyn Centre.

Dr. Hosur presented the potential challenges in applying sensing technologies in applications under harsh environments. Professor Prakash gave an insight of the challenges encountered in terms of wireless interference in dense area. Professor Yang shared with the audience the motivation and recent success of the   project in developing pervasive sensing technologies for sports applications.
