51³Ô¹ÏÍø and CDL-London launch healthcare robotics stream to help scale clinical and in-home care

Creative Destruction Lab and 51³Ô¹ÏÍø are launching a healthcare robotics stream at CDL-London for founders seeking to commercialise innovations in medical robotics, active sensing, and physical AI.

The programme supports the development of hardware-enabled technologies that bring cutting-edge precision and automation into hospitals, homes, and communities to deliver personalised healthcare at scale.

is hosted at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø by the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Institute for Deep Tech Entrepreneurship, an 51³Ô¹ÏÍø-wide initiative led by 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Business School, working closely with the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Enterprise Lab to deliver the 9-month mentorship programme. By connecting technical founders with mentors and domain experts, CDL-London will provide a structured programme designed to help teams develop their value propositions, prioritise milestones, and build teams more capable of massively scaling.

The launch of the healthcare robotics stream arrives at a critical technological inflection point where medical hardware is shifting from rigid, open-loop tools to context-aware agents capable of operating in unstructured environments. This shift is essential to addressing global healthcare capacity gaps. The convergence of robotics, sensing, and autonomy technologies is unlocking a broad array of commercial opportunities across the entire care pathway - from hospitals to homes.

CDL-London Healthcare Robotics will focus on a range of areas including the use of service robotics for logistics, sanitation and pharmacy dispensing and robotic aides for in-home care.

London is uniquely positioned to host this specialism due to its proximity to world-class research and clinical networks. The stream is anchored by 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s excellence in bioengineering and robotics and strong ties to the NHS.
