Manuel Emilio Marí-Altozano is a PhD student at the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising of the University of Malaga. His research focuses on the construction of individualised experiences for music through listeners’ exploration. He uses virtual reality and spatial audio to build music experiences which allow the user to explore a 3D musical environment designed for a specific room. This project introduces the concept of the open world, widely used in video games, to the realm of music and the performing arts.
