The Quantum ICoNYCh (51³Ô¹ÏÍø College New York Chicago) project was funded by a grant from the . It aimed to establish a networked trans-Atlantic partnership between 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, the Chicago Quantum Exchange and the emerging New York quantum ecosystem. The overall goal of the funding was to seed collaboration and partnership, and prepare for making joint funding applications, in particular the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF). 

Funding for lab exchanges/researcher/technician visits

The ICoNYCh Exchange Awards supported building links between researchers at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and researchers in the Chicago Quantum Exchange and the emerging New York quantum ecosystem, on any aspect of quantum science, engineering and technology. The aim of the Award was to build research capability and generate collaborative research and innovation on any topic in quantum science, engineering and technology. The Award should facilitate knowledge exchange, collaboration, or enhancement of expertise. The award supports travel and subsistence of the awardee for a visit to an institution in the greater NY or Chicago areas, or for the awardee to host a researcher from an institution in these areas at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, up to a maximum of £2,500 each. 

The applicant must have been a member of staff or a postgraduate student at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. Applications from technical staff were particularly welcome. The call opened on 1 November 2024 and the final round closed on 31 January 2025.

Chicago workshop, Spring 2025

QuEST worked with the Chicago Quantum Exchange to set up a workshop in the Chicago area in early Spring 2025. 

London workshop, 24-25 March 2025, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø

This invitation-only workshop reunited participants in ICoNYCh exchanges and workshops to  develop and deepen research collaborations, with the aim of preparing for joint funding applications, in particular to the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF). The theme of the workshop is QT horizon scanning.
