We see evolution in the increasing resistance to antibiotics and pesticides and in the way we see species adapting to rapidly changing environments. Silwood researchers have been studying evolution in action in a range of contexts, from microbes (yeast and bacteria) to the evolution of behaviour in birds. We are also tracking evolutionary events through the palaeontological record to identify major evolutionary transitions, including how animals evolved jaws and limbs.
