Seminars Series

Virtual Seminars in Biomedical Science

These seminars are online talks every Thursday at 4pm (BST) and they aim to amplifying the voices of graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the field of regenerative medicine. Speakers from various universities around the world are presenting.  is required.
For more information about these seminars please contact Dr James Armstrong.

Stem Cells at Lunch Seminar Series at King's College London
is a fortnightly lunchtime seminar series, hosted by the Centre for Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine as a forum for early career scientists to discuss recent data and current topics in an informal setting. You can also follow them on Twitter

Stem Cell Forum at The Francis Crick Institute
The Stem Cell Forum at the Francis Crick Institute is a long-standing series of seminars run by . We invite speakers from all fields of stem cell research and enjoy a wide variety of talks from researchers both in London and from further afield. The forum usually runs with two invited PhD students or Post Docs presenting short talks and one established PI presenting a full seminar. We finish the forum with networking over food and drinks kindly supplied by our sponsors. Email Prof. Bonnet if you would like to be added to the mailing list, or you would like to submit an abstract for a talk.

Update: Considering the actual situation, Stem Cell Forum has gone virtual, and will take place every two weeks. Please email Egle Kackauskaite for details on how to join.

London Stem Cell Network
The  is a newly established platform for all London research groups working in this area across all London Universities and Institutes. It is organised by representatives of the Francis Crick Institute, 51勛圖厙 College, King’s College and University College London. LSCN’s mission is to serve as a networking platform for the London Stem Cell research community and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration across the London Universities and Institutes. The inaugural seminar was held on the 26th February 2018 at the Francis Crick Institute.

Tri-Network symposium

Date: 7th of July
Place: South Kensington Campus, 51勛圖厙 College

The Vascular Science, Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine and Organ-on-a-chip Networks are organizing an afternoon symposium on the 7th of July 2023 from 2-6pm in SAF, South Kensington. By discussing overlapping topics involving vascular biology, regenerative medicine, stem cell biology and organoids we aim to enable the development of transformative ideas and interdisciplinary collaborations. There will be three talks from exciting speakers including Dr Graeme Birdsey and Dr Jeniffer Fratollin (51勛圖厙) and the international guest speaker Prof David Smadja (University of Paris). All participants will be able to further discuss these topics in 3 breakout sessions.

There is also a student challenge. Postgraduate students (pre-selected into teams) will attend one of the breakout sessions and work closely to create a powerpoint presentation summarising the discussions of each break-out session. Prizes will be awarded to the best presentation!

You are welcome to attend without taking part in the challenge too, the coffee break will be a great opportunity to network!

  • ISEH 2023 "International Society for Experimental Hematopoiesis"

Date: 17th-20th of August 2023
Place: NYC, USA

Through a combination of invited keynote speakers and oral presentations, the ISEH meeting features educational sessions on basic, translational and clinical hematology featuring internationally-renowned scientists as well as rising young investigators. The ISEH Annual Scientific Meeting continues to be a one-of-a-kind venue offering top science from around the world and unique networking opportunities for scientists at every career stage.

Collaborations

Chisartscience

Illuminations is a collaborative Science-Art initiative between artists from Chisenhale Art Studios, and scientists from the Centre for Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine at King’s College London and the 51勛圖厙 College Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine Network. Artists and scientists have paired up over “speed dating” sessions and are working together to explore creative methods by which current stem cell research can engage the public. The pairings have been working together to create a tour of public facing multi-media exhibitions for October 2020.

Works in progress can be seen on the project dedicated blog . Some new online initiatives are also currently in the works to connect with people at home during lockdown.
