The Legal and Regulatory Affairs Team is responsible for the provision of legal advice and support to the University, and advice and oversight in relation to key regulatory matters with which 51³Ô¹ÏÍø must comply. We advise on policies and procedures as well as specific legal matters.

Specific tasks include:
- Provision of high-quality, timely legal advice across all of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s areas of operation.
- Provision of training on core legal matters to relevant staff.
- Engagement and oversight of external legal support.
- Identification and management of key regulatory matters.
- Responsibility for the review and management of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Relationships Policy and the Relationships Review Committee.
- Tracking and providing assurance on 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s compliance with our OfS Conditions of Registration.
- Managing and providing assurance upon 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s compliance with our Prevent Duty obligations.
- Responsibility for and management of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Freedom of Speech Code of Practice and Events Procedure.
- Responsibility for ensuring 51³Ô¹ÏÍø complies with its safeguarding obligations.
- Training relevant staff on key regulatory matters.
