Site Monitoring

Description

This CDM Compliance Oversight Inspection is undertaken in fulfilment of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015). It's primary purpose is to provide assurance that all appointed dutyholders are effectively discharging their statutory responsibilities and that the project is being delivered in accordance with legal requirements and established governance standards. It does not replace the Principal Contractor's operational health and safety responsibilities. The findings of this review are intended to support continuous improvement, strengthen CDM oversight, protect 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's statutory position as Client, and provide demonstrable evidence that CDM 2015 duties are being met throughtout the lifecycle of the project.

Engagement

  • Health and Safety Team to conduct scheduled or ad-hoc site inspections. Inspection report will be issued afterward and shared with all relevant duty holders.
  • Post-Inspection - A formal inspection report is issued and shared with all relevant dutyholders.

Information Management

Space Database Update

Description

To enable the end users of the construction works/change being undertaken to be able to manage their new space, the revised layout plans for the project scope area are to be updated on 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's Space Management system. Waiting for handover and record documentation can sometimes delay users being able to manage their areas within the space management system. Therefore, it is imperative that the Building Information team keep an up-to-date database of all the buildings and the layouts within to ensure the end users of the revised space have full visibility in the space management system at completion.

Engagement

During RIBA Stage 5, the Project Manager must request from the Contractor the final confirmed Architectural GA floor plans being implemented as part of their construction project before Completion and Handover.

The PM is to send these final, confirmed Architectural GA floor plans to the Buildign Information Team via cadcompliance@imperial.ac.uk

Technical Operations

Site Inspection with TRM

Description

The Project Manager is required to contact each discipline within the TRM to offer site inspection and supervision services during the construction phase of the projects. These services will be tailored to each specific project. The contractor may advise on key activities and critical stages where inspections would be most beneficial; however, the TRM team must retain the flexibility to determine when they wish to attend site and which inspections they consider necessary. This approach will ensure that all disciplines are appropriately supported throughout the construction works while maintaining oversight at the most relevant and impactful stages of the project.
