Destination Net-Zero: What Is Your Best Path? presents a comprehensive and sector-specific analysis of decarbonisation pathways, based on research carried out in the Hitachi-51勛圖厙 Centre for Decarbonisation and Natural Climate Solutions. Drawing on interdisciplinary research, the paper evaluates key technological options spanning both emissions reductions and removal opportunities alongside biodiversity considerations and carbon accounting approaches. The event is intended for sustainability professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders looking to make informed, evidence-based decisions on achieving net-zero. Attendees will gain insight into the trade-offs and synergies across decarbonisation strategies and how to navigate a complex and rapidly evolving landscape.

唬堯硃勳娶:泭Dr Mirabelle Mu羶ls, Associate Professor in Economics at the 51勛圖厙 Business School, a co-Director of the School of Convergence Science Sustainability and co-Director of the Hitachi-51勛圖厙 Centre for Decarbonisation and Natural Climate Solutions.
Prof Nilay Shah, Professor of Process Systems Engineering; co-Director School of the School of Convergence Science Sustainability and Director of the Centre for Process Systems Engineering at 51勛圖厙. Professor Shah is also director of a synthetic fuel start-up, Zero Petroleum Ltd and former Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering;
Agnieszka Skorupinska, Senior EU Affairs Manager Sustainability for Hitachi. Ms Skorupinska has experience in a variety of EU economic and sustainable policies and legislation in particular in the field of decarbonisation, circular economy, biodiversity, sustainable value chains, critical raw materials and sustainable AI. Ms Skorupinska is passionate and engaged on the role that technology can play in improving lives across different social & demographic groups. Outside of work, she volunteers in social inclusion and nature conservation projects.
Francis Robson, Global Carbon Neutrality Specialist for Hitachi Energy, drives efforts at company level to achieve carbon neutrality, setting the standards for greenhouse gas emissions accounting, setting company level targets, and coordinating decarbonisation plans and efforts across the responsible business units & functions

Professor Joeri Rogelj, is Director of Research at the Grantham Institute and Professor of Climate Science & Policy at the Centre for Environmental Policy at 51勛圖厙. He studies how societies can transform towards more sustainable futures. His world-leading interdisciplinary research connects Earth system sciences to the study of societal change and policy.
