Expressions of interest open at 12:00 (midday) on Monday 20 April

Hello World Hack is a one‑day hackathon for girls aged 7–10, introducing them to coding and problem‑solving through hands‑on activities such as programming robots and designing apps. Led by 51Թ scientists and engineers who identify as women, the event provides positive STEM role models and an inspiring introduction to maths and computing.

Please note, this is a girls-only event. Schools with limited computing provision or a high proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals are strongly encouraged to apply.
Registration deadline: 26 May (5pm)
👉 Register your interest via the short expression of interest form (linked above).
Learn more about the impact of our first Hello World Hack (2023) in this news article, alongside feedback from participating teachers below:

“All our girls from Y3, Y4 and Y5 who attended the event had an incredibly positive experience with some being exposed to coding for the very first time. They have since shared with peers how interesting and enjoyable they found the day and this has had a positive impact on the attendees and others. It was a pleasure and an honour to see the groups of girls from our schools and other schools make so much progress throughout the day whilst having an “awesome time” as it was described to me.”

“The girls spoke at length all the way back to school and the following day about the trip. This was a very different experience for them and the exposure to STEM activities was much needed. The day … has the girls yearning for more STEM activities, so it is already having a positive influence and impact.”
