In celebration of this year’s 175th anniversary of the Royal School of Mines (RSM175), the Department of Earth Science and Engineering and Department of Materials are holding a special flagship event celebrating this important milestone.

Established in 1851, the RSM was one of the three founding colleges of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. Since then, it has nurtured generations of students, staff, researchers and educators, building a legacy of discovery and innovation across materials science and earth science.

Taking place throughout the RSM building on Friday 27th November, this all-day ‘Day of Celebration’ event will bring together alumni, students, staff, industry partners and friends for a day of discovery, celebration and connection, showcasing the people, research, teaching, innovation and culture that define the RSM today.

You can expect a variety of activities, stalls and demonstrations, under the theme ‘From Atoms to Planets’, and the opportunity to connect and reconnect with new and old faces alike.
