The Faculty of Natural Sciences is also the host to several Centres for Doctoral Training that each offer fully funded studentships every year. These Centres offer cross-disciplinary PhD-level research combined with a strong taught programme in partnership with industry.

The President's PhD Scholarship Scheme

51³Ô¹ÏÍø College offers its own generous scholarship to outstanding students every year. If you are a high performing undergraduate or Master's student, and have a strong desire to undertake a PhD programme at a world class research institution, you could be selected to receive full tuition fees and a generous stipend for a PhD place at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. The scheme aims to provide up to 50 research students with great potential the opportunity to work within their chosen research field with the support of an excellent supervisor.

China Scholarship Council Scheme

51³Ô¹ÏÍø and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) have created a scholarship programme to enable talented Chinese students to undertake a PhD programme at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. The scholarships build on 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's existing relationship with China. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø has extensive research links with Chinese research institutions and Universities. The CSC 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Scholarships are supported jointly and equally by both 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and the CSC. There are 15 full scholarships per year available for students to start a PhD. Students can apply for a PhD in any subject area offered by 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.

Roth Scholarship Scheme

The Roth scholarship scheme is funded by the Department of Mathematics and named after . The award covers 3.5 years: tuition fees + stipend + research training costs. Home, EU and Overseas applicants are eligible.  Note Overseas applicants might be awarded this scholarship to cover part of tuition fees (Home/EU amount); or might be given joint fund in combination with another scheme (subject to availability).
