Lab of the Future Hackathon

The Institute of Chemical Biology’s CDT is launching a Nationwide Hackathon for teams of graduates undertaking Masters, PhD or PDRA positions to develop lab of the future tools and technologies – which will address the changing nature of the modern lab.

To address this challenge, teams must first submit their interest to the competition in October 2025. They will then get 4 months to develop the idea and submit their progress via a short video. Shortlisted teams will get the chance to present their idea and/or prototype at the Hackathon Grand Final a month later, at our Lab of the Future Symposium. Presentations will be judged by a panel of experts and the winning team will receive £5000 in prize money!
