Bloomberg: getting started
Bloomberg at Abdus Salam Library
Bloomberg contains current and historical financial information on individual equities, stock market indices, fixed-income securities, currencies, commodities, and futures.
It is available on 11 PCs on level 1 of the Abdus Salam Library labelled ‘Bloomberg’. Bloomberg access is only available to current members of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. Bloomberg users have priority access to library Bloomberg PCs and can book these PCs.
To start using Bloomberg double click the green icon on the desktop and follow the instructions to create a new login.
Bloomberg in the Business School
There are:
- 12 Bloomberg PCs in the Bloomberg Lab on the lower ground floor of the Business School
- 12 Bloomberg PCs in the Bloomberg Trading Room (for Business School use) in 15 Prince’s Gardens
- 5 Bloomberg PCs in the Sherfield Building’s Business School Student Computer Room, SHER.313
Business School Bloomberg terminals can only be used by Business students.
Remote access to Bloomberg
We are unable to offer remote access to the resource under the terms of our licence. Our subject librarians are happy to assist if you wish to explore using a different database to find what you need.
Exporting Bloomberg data
Please note that Bloomberg Terminal licenses have a data addendum in which the data must be used on the station in which it was exported and it cannot be further distributed into a third-party application on your own device.
